March 21, 200719 yr Tom, Great news about version 4.0beta being available. I know it must have been a lot of work. On the other hand, the laundry-list of features that were slated for 3.2 now need to be re-allocated to 4.1 (guessing 4.0 will not add more features than already in the release list, with the kernel upgrade to 2.6.20 being the biggest change for 4.0) I probably won't get a chance to install the 4.0 upgrade until tomorrow, but I'm planning on putting it on the second of my "pro" USB drives, that way the current USB drive I'm using to boot unRaid is unchanged until I decide to upgrade it. Once I boot on version 4.0, is there any issue on shutting down and booting the original flash drive with 3.1 if i run into any problems? I'm guessing that since all the config files on the old flash are still as they were, it will boot as usual. Is this correct? Joe L.
March 21, 200719 yr Yes, a lot of work! The config files that are not backward compatible are: syslinux.cfg - different kernel startup arguments config/disk.cfg - the identifer strings are different config/ident.cfg - the timezone setting 'custom' is not recognized by 3.x If you think you want to revert back to 3.x, then you should first make a copy of those files.
