first time the vm is run, it operates fine. if the vm is turned off, then on reboot it will hang at Tianocore screen.

 

Looking in the server logs I noticed:

 

Dec 28 17:07:53 Brahms1 kernel: pci 0000:17:00.0: xHCI BIOS handoff failed (BIOS bug ?) 00010401

 

 

0000:17:00.0 i the usb card.

 

 

anyone know about this?

    Not sure, but that's looks rather familiar, so may not be the problem.

     

    You can check for a motherboard BIOS upgrade.

    Hp entitlement upgrade that i'm not willing to pay for on a 6 year old server..... and i'm not sure i trust second hand sources.
