ICSOLUTIONS
Hi Guys. I have had my unraid server up and running for a few years with zero problems, but after a few power outages recently my HDD's disappeared. I can see them in bios when i remove my usb stick on SATA, 2,3,4, but when i plug the usb stick back in they disappear from bios and obviously show as missing in the GUI. I am attaching a syslog and a screen shot of the GUI. Any help or direction would be much appreciated. The only change I have made was to replace my PSU on the computer thinking that it may not be providing enough juice for the HDD's, but that was not the case. unRaid Server Basic Version: 5.0.6 HP Pavilion a6720y AMD Phenom X4 9550 Quad Core 8GB Memory PEGATRON MOBO - M2N78-LA Thanks for your help. trurl
The syslog is a simple text file and anything you do to process it further, such as converting it to pdf, makes it much more difficult to read and work with. Please edit your post and attach it as a text file. Since your BIOS isn't seeing the drives unRAID isn't likely too either. I have never heard of the particular symptoms you describe, but sounds like you have something seriously broken or misconfigured with your hardware. Are you sure you got everything hooked up to the power supply correctly? Quote Link to comment
ICSOLUTIONS
Hi trurl - thanks for response. Re attached the file as .txt as you asked hope that is better. I was very careful to re attach all power and sata connectors correctly. I booted to bios and all 3 drives were listed available under the correct sata locations. I then saved bios settings, exited and while it was powered down plugged in my original working UNRAID Usb. When it was booting I went back into the bios and now the other drives are no longer listed only the USB was shown as a drive option after inserted. Other things that might help or suggestions? Thanks, Alan Quote Link to comment
trurl
Try a different USB port. Quote Link to comment
ICSOLUTIONS
After further review I may have a bad motherboard or Sata ports. Can you recommend information for migrating existing HDD/USB drives to a new setup? Thanks, A Quote Link to comment
trurl
As long as your USB drive is OK and the new system is OK it should just boot up with everything like it was. You should save a screenshot of your drive assignments just in case. I have changed hardware several times and it always just worked. Quote Link to comment
