Generic 6u+ Server Rack?

Featured Replies

Hello, all. I'm in the market for a Server rack that has atleast 6u of space, and I've run across some generic racks. Most of them are branded as "go plus" server cabinets, but the design is definitely some generic OEM model that has a few different brands slapped onto it. My question is, has anyone bought one of these units, and are they worth the money? The price is pretty goods, and the pictures don't seem too bad, either.

While I've never bought one of these this looks like a cabinet for network components such as switches and routers and other small items, not a rack mount server. For one, it doesn't look deep enough for a rack mount server and then even if you could fit a 1U or 2U server in there it doesn't look like there is adequate ventilation.

Do you have any recommendations? For now, I just have my 2U server sitting on top of a metal container on the floor.
