New user, clearing taking forever

Just set a new system, using unraid 3.0.

 

When I used the basic version is recognized and set up my 3 disk system without a hitch (all Sata).  After buying the pro key, I went to add 2 more drives (1 Pata, 1 Sata 500gb each).  They were brand new drives so I thought unraid would just format and I'd be off to the races.

 

Instead they started clearing the drives.  From 10pm til 8am the next morning only 13% was cleared.  Figuring there was a problem I stopped it and tried just the sata drive by itself, no difference, after a few hours it was 3% cleared.

 

I'm using the ASUS motherboard recommended on forum, ASUS P5LD2-VM R2.0

so I'm not sure what is going on.

 

Is this normal or are there any suggestions?

Please use latest 4.0 beta for that motherboard.

Upgraded to 4.0 b9, speed went from 2,273kb to 45,000kb on the parity.  So far so good!
