Help with auto booting from usb stick on Asus Ranger VII

Featured Replies

Hi guys

I have a Kingston Data Traveller 8GB usb stick with unraid on it, but I cant seem to get the Asus Ranger VII bios to recognize it as a device it can auto boot from.

This is what happens when I boot:

Bios appears

I then have to go into boot menu and choose Kingston Data Traveller non UEFI.

Has anyone else had this issue? I would be great to be able to boot directly from the usb without have to access the boot menu. I have set the boot options to only have the usb drive but it made no difference.

Thanks

On the boot menu there should be an option to list all HDDs (BBS HDD priority or similar) and you need to put the flash drive on top.

Yes already done that, the USB drive is the only boot device. All others disabled

If it's showing up as a uefi check and remove boot security. Had an issue finding this on my asus board too. That will allow legacy style boot to unraid.

Thanks both. All working now. Moving the usb to the front did the trick. Cheers
