May 13, 20179 yr Hi Hope someone can help me here, been tearing my hear out with this for a few hours now. From my W10 VM, moving files between shares that exist on an UNRAID disk i get excellent read/write speeds, pretty much maxing out the drive that I'm reading from (120MB/s 7200 RPM WD). if I copy a file from the same SMB share directly to the W10 VM i get approx 50% of the expected speed (60MB/s). Whilst this isn't bad by any means, I should expect 100-110MB/s, close to that of a direct share-share transfer should I not? Why would transferring a file from SMB share to the VM be so much slower? The VM itself sits on a 500MB/s SSD and is in RAW format. I tested to see if the VM was the issue by copying a file within W10 and got around 200MB/s, so, the SSD and VM don't appear to be the bottleneck. What about the vNIC i hear you ask? Well, that is is to 10Gbps and 9000 MTU so this is not the issue either. Not sure what else to try, so looking for some guidance on where to look next. cheers
