Both disks dropped offline, since both are using the same Marvell controller and theses are known to have issues first thing would be connect them to a non Marvell controller.

    its on a pci card. Didn't know it was marvell. Could you recommend a cheap pci card to replace that?

    If 2 ports are enough get an Asmedia 1601/2, they are about 15$, if not get an 8 port LSI 9211-8i or clone.
