I have:

2x 750GB ATA100 7200rpm Seagate 7200.10 drives

1x 400GB ATA100 7200rpm Seagate 7200.9 drive

    That seems to be pretty good with only 3 disks.  I have 11 PATA drives in my array and I average around 15,000 KB/sec.
