If I assign one to the array the log shows:

Aug 2 08:56:21 Tower emhttpd: shcmd (420): umount /mnt/disk1

This is using a p410i onboard raid controller. SUPPOSE to work with the hpsa driver. As I've found out, other hp raid cards just cause controller lockups and the server won't boot. I can see the disks and even run the disk speed plugin on them. When they show up under unassigned devices, clicking the format button turns it green shadow in an outline but doesn't do anything.

diagnostics attached. any assistance appreciated. I have tried single logical disks and raid 0/1.tower-diagnostics-20170802-0859.zip

---edit/update--

I"m a bit dumb and forgot about destructive mode with unassigned devices. So I was able to format a couple of the logical volumes. When putting one in the array and one as cache, the array disk refuses to mount, but cache seems to have worked. Going to fiddle around a little more, but not sure why the array disk won't format/mount.

---- edit/update 2

array disk formats after stopping and restarting array. weird.

would be nice to have the ability to use several cache pools so I wouldn't have to do it this way!!!!!
