September 7, 20178 yr I currently have a Supermicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 controller with 8 drives running on it, although I don't have any issues with it, I thinking of changing it out for an LSI based 9211-8i from eBay. Is it just a case of swapping the cards over or is there anything else I need to do/watch out for to make it a smooth transition?
September 7, 20178 yr Community Expert I did just that recently when I changed two SASLP card for a LSI 9201-16i card.. It was just a case of plugging in the LSI card in place of the SASLP cards and moving the SAS cables over. When I rebooted the system the unRAID system came up running just as it was before changing the card. Since doing that performance has been better and the system is now more stable. September 7, 20178 yr Yeah this is exactly what I did last week, changed from the same cards over to M1015's (LSI). Just made sure I put the cables into the same ports, rebooted, no issues at all, just came straight up.
September 7, 20178 yr Author That's great stuff, just what I was hoping the answer would be, thanks for that guys.
