October 3, 20178 yr One disk in my array was showing faulty (red x) over the weekend so I stopped the array, remove the disk, start array, stopped the array, added the disk, and started the array again which triggered the parity-sync/rebuild. That completed fine without any errors after about 13 hours but then it is showing faulty again due to read errors. Any idea what's causing it? Is it just a faulty hard drive? Thanks! nas-diagnostics-20171003-1544.zip

October 3, 20178 yr Author Thanks Johnnie. Here's the new diags after I did a reboot. Now Disk 7 is showing red x and Not Installed... nas-diagnostics-20171003-1632.zip
October 6, 20178 yr Author Unplugged and plugged the Disk 7 back in, and stopped the array. When I did that, I noticed Unraid recognized the Disk 7 and I was able to choose it in the dropdown box for Disk 7. But for some reason, it's recognizing it as a new device and wants to rebuild it. This is what happened earlier this week and as soon as rebuild completed, Disk 7 went offline again. I've attached the latest diags. Any idea? Thanks. nas-diagnostics-20171005-2051.zip
October 6, 20178 yr Community Expert Disk shows a lot of UDMA CRC errors, they may be old or not but you should replace the SATA cable anyway. 199 UDMA_CRC_Error_Count 0x003e 200 200 000 Old_age Always - 19804 It has also reached 70C in the past, that's way too hot and it will most likely shorten its life: Quote ID# ATTRIBUTE_NAME FLAG VALUE WORST THRESH TYPE UPDATED WHEN_FAILED RAW_VALUE 194 Temperature_Celsius 0x0022 036 070 000 Old_age Always - 36 (0 20 0 0 0) Checking a few more random disks show more disks at 60C+, if they are getting to these temps on the current server you should review your cooling. If you want to rebuild to the same disk follow the instructions below: https://wiki.lime-technology.com/Troubleshooting#Re-enable_the_drive
