May 15, 201016 yr Forgive me, I haven't ran Slackware since 1995. (I lived in a town 80 miles away from the developer!). What is the standard apt-get, port, etc installer for slackware? Is it installed by default? Will standard slackware packages work with unraid? I find that I need a few random packages that aren't easily available from the sources on this forum. Last time I did anything, I remember .. slack-get? Something along those lines. Is slack-get deprecated? The last post I see about it on freshmeat is from 2006. I realize that gcc isn't available with the stock distro, but I'm up for some tweaking. (Just need good shell access on my unraid server) Anyone running an IRC client on their unraid box? Any suggestions? How about using Unraid as a amanda server? I'm torn between win7 backup and amanda. How about TimeMachine? I'd love to be able to use unraid as a nice backup for my apple laptop. --edit-- Oh, and Hi!
May 15, 201016 yr You would do better to install a full Slackware development system to hard drive, then install unRAID to the hard drive. Then you can essentially install and use anything.
