Onboard ethernet passthrough

Recommended Posts

Hi lime-tech great community!

Got an AsRock EP2C602 motherboard, with two ethernet connectors and a IPMI port. The two ethernet ports, are located in two different IOMMU group, but got the same id. Could I maybe passthtough one ethernet and the ipmi port for pfsense to use as wan and lan connections?

IOMMU groups:

IOMMU group 21
[8086:10d3] 08:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82574L Gigabit Network Connection
IOMMU group 23
[8086:10d3] 0b:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82574L Gigabit Network Connection

lspci command from ssh connection:

08:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82574L Gigabit Network Connection

0b:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82574L Gigabit Network Connection

lspci-n command from ssh connection:

08:00.0 0200: 8086:10d3

0b:00.0 0200: 8086:10d3

If this is not and option, can anyone maybe recommend a got PCIe NIC for my server without costing the white out of my eyes. With preferably 4 ports 10 GB/s so the card is kinda future prof for some time? :-D
