January 10, 20188 yr I'm having a strange issue using two GPUs with OSX High Sierra 10.13.2 (17C88). I've successfully installed High Sierra and passed two Nvidia Quadro P4000 GPUs to OSX. Both show up and work fine. I can plug one monitor or two monitors into one or the other GPU just fine and my desktop will extend across the two monitors. The issue is that if I plug one monitor into the first GPU and a second monitor into the second GPU then OSX kicks me into the login screen. If I log back in, I can see both screens for about 5-10 seconds and then it will log out of OSX again. Has anyone else had this issue? Windows 10 works fine and allows me to plug a monitor into each of the GPUs and span my desktop. The purpose of the two Quadro graphics cards is to span my desktop across 4-7 projectors. I get the same issue with Displayport monitors and with Displayport to DVI and HDMI converters. I've also tried passing through two 980ti's and get the same logout issue as the Quadro P4000's. Unfortunately I don't have a bare-metal hackintosh available to see if this is is an OSX issue or a hardware issue. Any suggestions are appreciated. I've installed OSX using SpaceInvaderOne's YouTube guide and the graphics drivers following this guide: https://hackintosher.com/guides/properly-install-nvidia-drivers-high-sierra-10-13/ Hardware: Motherboard: ASUS X99-E WS CPU: i7 6900K Drivers: NVIDIA Web Driver 378.10.10.10.25.102 Lilu.kext NvidiaGraphicsFixup.kext I'm using the latest unRAID rc20 and q35-2.10. The problem has persisted since I started with rc13. Different q35 versions don't change anything either. Edited January 10, 20188 yr by ryan_jackson
January 10, 20188 yr Have you looked at tonymac or insanely Mac? Pretty sure this is a Hackintosh issue as Nvidia drivers can be kinda wacky. I have heard of this type of issue on Hackintosh systems.Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
January 10, 20188 yr Author Hi david279, I've searched Tonymac forums and Google for similar problems. No one has posted an issue with being logged out of OSX upon connecting a second monitor to a second GPU. It seems everyone with dual monitor issues can't get dual monitors to work at all or they get black screens. My issue is that I can't get dual monitors with dual GPUs to work (the monitors turn on and show an extended desktop) but OSX kicks me out to the login screen after 5 seconds. If anyone out there has High Sierra and two GPUs in their box, I'd appreciate if they could test passing both GPUs to High Sierra and then try plugging one monitor into the first GPU and a second monitor into the second GPU. I currently don't know if this is an OSX issue, Nvidia issue, Clover/kext issue or a KVM issue. Edited January 11, 20188 yr by ryan_jackson
