Interesting article, I linked the last page showing the performance improvement.

 

Tom, care to comment?  Is this pertinent to Unraid?  If so, have you seen similar performance improvements?

Can't say we've seen "huge" performance improvements - though unRAID bottlenecks are not very related to the kernel.  The big thing 2.6 kernel provides (for unRAID) is much better h/w support.
