Trial Period Question: Disk, Parity & Cache

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, i have a PC at home, which has decent hardware. I built it for gaming/office purposes but i dont use it much. I decided to turn it into a NAS server/Win 10 VM.

I saw a youtube video where linus tech tips assigned the unraid to the board graphics and windows to the dedicated grapchics card. Would like to try that.

Yesterday i installed the OS however i messed the array settings and i cant see my 4TB hdd, giving me missing option. I dont see it at the BIOS neither, tonight will check

My question:

I have 2 drives; m.2 ssd (OS) and hdd (media archive)

As i understood unraid is running via USB pendrive, right? So can i use m.2 ssd as my cache drive and my 4TB drive for media?

Later can i add a parity drive?

I am just experiencing this NAS OS if i should use it over Windows 10 or not, until now its not that easy to setup...
