Use N40L as external storage for HP Gen 8?

Hi!

 

I have been thinking about getting some extra storage for my Gen8 and the only good options I have found have been really expensive.

I got an offer to buy an N40L pretty cheaply and this could have the extra benefit of serving as an external pfSense-router instead of using it as a VM on my main server.

 

Does this sound like a good idea? What extra hardware would I be needing to make this work?
