Multiple drives are getting high error count

Featured Replies

Over the past couple of days I have seen a couple of drives getting high error counts. My first party drive had over 1k errors and one of my array had about 150. The array drive is only a couple months old. I am thinking it could be something with the SATA cables because the count is so high. I have attached the diagnostics file. An help would be greatly appreciated.

Parity disk dropped offline so there's no SMART, check cables and post new diags.

The errors on disk4 look like a disk problem, SMART looks good so far so I recommend doing an extended SMART test, if it passes give it a second chance if it fails replace.

Also please uninstall the preclear plugin since it spams the log with PHP warnings that make it much harder to analyze.

Thank you for the help. I will post new diags later today.

Since SMART passed and attributes look OK I'd give at second chance, but any more errors and replace.

Parity also looks fine but shows some recent UDMA_CRC errors, so most likely it dropped from a bad cable, replace SATA cable and re-sync.
