August 1, 20187 yr Hey when I open my Network Share in Windows Explorer, I cannot change file names. I am logged in as a user that has read/write permissions on the share. Says I need permissions from tower/nobody. I tried googling and found a slew of results.... I was able to do this before, and I haven't changed any type of permission settings since then.. Please advise? Edited August 1, 20187 yr by ct1996
August 1, 20187 yr Author The problem seems to be related to a particular folder. I'm not sure how to fix this.. I am able to write in (seemingly?) every other directory. On my mac computer, the files don't even show up in the folder. I suspected they might be deleted, so I went to my windows pc where they are still appearing (as opposed to just an empty directory), and I am able to play the videos. So the files still exists... Edit: For fucks sake. Every directory that was created thru a Docker (qbittorrent) is like this. So if I designated it to download to /sharename/media/Name of Show without first having a folder called "Name of Show", it created a folder, and locked me out of writing to it. Thoughts on fixing this? Edited August 1, 20187 yr by ct1996
August 1, 20187 yr Author Final post. Solved. During the folder creation process, it is up to the docker handling the procedure to create permissions for the folder.. It doesn't listen to unRaid default. (Dumb) I ran the following : chmod -R 0777 /mnt/user/Media (media being my download folder share, containing all the problematic subdirs) This solved the issue. Thanks @rcampbell for a similar thread.
