sadeq
I've installed ubuntu 18.04 inside a VM and set the graphics card to VNC and assigned the last to cores two the VM. hardware is( intel core i3 8100(4c/4t) 8GB ram ) it seems when you set a high resolution like 1080p you get a cpu usage spikes and a laggy stream, so it seems vnc is not a good solution, I tried xrdp but it's broken on ubuntu. so I installed xubuntu and it worked fine, (high resolution and you get the same session when you connect back). I'm running this machine for the sole purpose of running a few desktop applications that are available on both windows and linux. so what is the best choice ? it seems mounting smb shares is easier on windows as you only need to map the network drive. but for the other stuff..., is windows stable enough to run for like 2 months without restart ? should I care about viruses, malware and install an anti-virus ? does windows server/10 require a lot of resources ? I'll only give two cores(4000 passmark) to the vm and 3GB of ram MAX Edited October 20, 2018 by sadeq Quote Link to comment
