September 14, 201015 yr Hi ! I've mounted an Unraid server with a core i3 540 on supermicro X8SIL-F and 2Go of ram 2 disk for the moment, 1 parity + 1 data (Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ) Copy from PC via gigabit network not speeder that 900 Ko/s Parity Sync is at 50-100 Ko/s I have take the syslog Can you help me ? Thanks. syslog-2010-09-14-1830.txt
September 14, 201015 yr I am sorry to just glance on your syslog and not being able to offer much assistance but I have never used a board with IPMI. One friendly advice however is to avoid using the OCZ technology flash drives as they die fast.
September 14, 201015 yr Author My OCZ key is the best key that i have ever see... It's a temporary key for unraid. I have ordered a preconfigured flash with pro licence. My parity sync has ended and the the transfer rate is correct... I'm curently transfering 1To at ~50 Mo/s
September 14, 201015 yr My OCZ key is the best key that i have ever see... It's a temporary key for unraid. I have ordered a preconfigured flash with pro licence. It is good if you have ordered the flash from Lime-tech. I will agree with you 100% that Rally2 Turbo is one of the fastest flash drives but I am not sure if you are aware that they die fast too and when they do they will take your license with them (if you do not believe me you can visit their support forums) It is life time warranty but once you send it back and forth few times you may realize it is better to move on.
September 14, 201015 yr Author Yes I have ordered a flash from lime-Tech my OCZ is my fastest key then i kepp it available i can't leave it on my unraid server. I believe what you say about it but my key has few years yet and it still alive...
September 14, 201015 yr I'm unfamiliar with the term Mo/s Do you mean Megabytes per second? or Do you mean Megabits per second? Same with Ko/s Is it Kilobytes per second, or Kilobits per second? Normally MB/s = Megabytes per second, Mb/s = Megabits per second, KB/s = Kilobytes per second, Kb/s = Kilobits per second. Joe L.
September 14, 201015 yr Author I'm sorry, I'm french Mo/s = Méga Octet /sec = MB/s = Megabytes/sec Ko/s = Kilo Octet /sec = KB/s = Kilobytes/sec We don't have special unity for bit, Kb/s = Kb/sec in France too

It makes sense. I tried using "google" first, but it gave no answer that was "Mega Octet" (I grew up on Octal Notation in the early days of computing) It sounds like your performance is reasonable. A parity sync is quite normal at 50 Ko/s to 100 Ko/s. Joe L.
September 14, 201015 yr Author It sounds like your performance is reasonable. A parity sync is quite normal at 50 Ko/s to 100 Ko/s. OK, thanks for your precision. I've thinked that 50-100 KB/s ;-) was very slow for empty disk. Now, I have normal transfer rate, ~50 MB/sec for 250-500 MB files. And i have 1 question about unraid. Pro version accept 20 disk but it is 18+parity+cache or 20+2 ? Thanks.

September 15, 201015 yr The possible device list in version 4.5.6 goes Parity, Disk1 to Disk20 then Cache. Peter
