Unraid/Plex Setup Issue

Featured Replies

Hello Everyone

Very new to unraid and I am experiencing some issues that I'm not for sure if they are normal or not. I have setup a plex docker container with my media and what I believe was the correct setup. I have my media set to use a "Media" directory. I have noticed that random files start to appear in this directory. All of the files have .mkv extension but are not playable. They all have different names ranging from "DSC_00XX", "IMG_XXXX", to movie titles in my Library. The sizes range from 20Kb-1.2Gb. If they were all smaller files it wouldn't be much of a concern to me. For example one mystery file is titled "Fargo.mkv" and is 1.6Gb, Fargo exists in my Media directory as a .mkv but is playable and is 3.6Gb.

At first I thought this was a backup routine that Plex is running but I have noticed some other files in this directory that appear to have thumbnails from my unifi-video docker. I also have new directories created called ".KhpcmD" that contain other media titles.  As of now I have 306 of these mystery files that add up to 28.8Gb. I'll delete the files then they reappear, which again to me points to a routine that is creating these. This is strange to me since I previously had Plex setup on a dedicated machine and never noticed these files being created in my libraries.

Is there something I mistakenly setup or setup incorrectly? I'm guessing this is the case since I'm very new to this OS.

Thanks for any assistance.
