Added cache disk - question on appdata folders

Featured Replies

Hello-

This is a really dumb question and I did my best to search for an answer that explicitly answered this in my scenario but didn't have any luck. I'm new to unRAID, loving it so far, I didn't have a cache disk when I migrated my server from ubuntu but I ordered one and installed it today. Adding it went flawlessly, I added it as cache and it created the appdata folder for me. I changed the setting on the share to "Cache Only" and used mc to copy any data in the appdata folders that had been distributed across the disks in my array.

Is it safe to remove the appdata folders from the disks now that its all on cache? I cant think of a reason why it wouldnt be but I just want to make sure.

Thanks in advance.

That should be fine but you really did this the hard way. You could have just set the appdata share to cache-prefer, run mover, and it would have been moved to cache and you would be done.

You might want to take a look at the CA Backup plugin if you want something to backup appdata.
