emhttpd: userAccess.3 not found (unable to change share user access)

Featured Replies

Helllo,

I'm having a big problem with being unable to apply any user access permissions, to SMB or to AFP.  When I attempt to do so, the GUI spins for a long time before rejecting my change (changing "Read/Write" back to "No Access", for instance).  In /var/log/syslog I see the following happen during this time (this also happens with any SMB change as well - I emphasize that it is NOT specific to AFP).

Subsequent attempts to modify any user permissions, such as the SMB permissions to the "Users" share below, result in timeouts such as the following.  These continue until I reboot my unraid server.

Dec 29 12:47:32 samurai nginx: 2018/12/29 12:47:32 [error] 5538#5538: *1772581 upstream timed out (110: Connection timed out) while reading response header from upstream, client: 192.168.1.17, server: , request: "POST /update.htm HTTP/1.1", upstream: "http://unix:/var/run/emhttpd.socket/update.htm", host: "192.168.1.11", referrer: "http://192.168.1.11/Shares/Share?name=TimeMachine"

I keep seeing the behavior.  When I reboot, the timeouts go away and I see the "userAccess.3" and the segfault again, followed by more timeouts, and the cycle continues.  I'm currently on 6.6.2.  I've also seen this on 6.6.1 and 6.6.5 on this server- upgrades and downgrades don't seem to resolve it.

I get timeouts when trying to change passwords on users as well.  Also my /etc/[passwd,group,hosts] entries reflects the fact that I run a home computer linux lab for the family, and those all worked fine with NFS and allowed me to use user management on SMB & AFP as well, at least until around 6.6.1 I think.  I've been having this problem for a few months now.

Besides that everything else seems functional, except for a single misbehaving plex docker container that I need to delete and recreate.

Please, can anyone help me with this?  I have searched and not found any other references to this error.
