September 23, 201015 yr Alright, one more thing before I'll be satisfied with my setup. At least, satisfied for now (I'm sure I'll find something else to mess with soon enough). So, I'm using SNAP to mount a hard drive within unRAID, but outside of parity so that I can copy files over to it and take them with me. I don't want to move the files over with Windows Explorer because that causes my desktop to get involved (the file will transfer through the network to my desktop, and then get sent right back to unRaid to its destination). Luckily, I came across unRAID-Web and its AjaXplorer. This is exactly what I need because all the file transfers between shares is done through the unRAID box and doesn't circle around my network stupidly. I have one problem, however. I don't know if this is a known issue, but it seems that AjaXplorer doesn't like .mkv files. It does not recognize .mkv as filetype and instead gives them a folder thumbnail instead of a file thumbnail. When I attempt to copy the file to my SNAP'd drive, it fails immediately, whereas other filetypes work just fine. Is there any way to prevent AjaXplorer from trying to understand what a .mkv is and just force it to push it over anyway? Or, is there a way to tell AjaXplorer to just treat .mkv like a .avi or .mpg or anything else it understands? ALSO: I just came across this thread [http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=3354.msg61788#msg61788] and apparently it has to do with the size of the file? I'm not so sure if that's the case because I can copy 1.37GB .avi files and my server only has 1GB of RAM. I would first suspect that it has to do with the way it recognizes .mkv's. Also, I renamed a .mkv to .avi and a .avi to .mkv just to see what would happen, and the .avi to .mkv file still transfered, although it was recognized as an unknown filetype (blank piece of paper for icon). The .mkv to .avi still had the folder icon and still failed to transfer. Thanks for your suggestions.
September 23, 201015 yr I think I read it has to do with 32 bit integers and the web-server not being able to handle files over 4Gig.
September 24, 201015 yr Author I was looking to be able to easily hand-select particular files and move them all at once, and so I was thinking a web gui would be easiest. Although, I did totally forget that midnight commander was an option, so thanks for reminding me. Also, does anyone know if the simple file management included with unRAID 5.0 will be able to handle 4GB files? I wouldn't be surprised if it had the same 32-bit filesize limitations, but I thought I may as well ask. Alright, I think I'm getting to a point where I'm liking my setup fairly well, but not without thanks to you guys on the forums. Thanks.

Of course, you can probably install AjaxExplorer there too, but it will have the same limitation.
