Draven
Hi everybody, It might seems as a dumb question but I'm in the process of upgrading my unRAID server and I have an iStarUSA hot swap cage that I would like to get rid of, since I bought a Rosewill RSV-L4500 (with 15 internal bays). My question is, will I be able to simply remove my drives from the cage and plug it directly into the same motherboard port without running into any kind of troubles? Or will I have to do something special before doing so? Thank you for your time. Edit : typo Edited January 16, 2019 by Draven Quote Link to comment
wreck
As long as the drive configuration stays the same (take a screen shot before anything changes), you are fine to move to whatever updated/changed hw you want. Quote Link to comment
Niklas
No problem. Unraid identifies drives using the serial number of the drives. Quote Link to comment
