Accidentally deleted files manually, and web interface is now rekt

Featured Replies

Using version 6.6.6 pretty sure, but no way to check at the moment.

I was looking into why NZBGet was keeping 200GB of duplicate files in my completed downloads folder, then decided to delete the files in that directory. Since I am a noob I was logged into console as root, and ran an "rm -r /*", but cancelled it when I saw it was trying to delete all sorts of read only files. Now there are no valid directories on that disk anymore, the web interface says site cannot be reached, and the console directly on the machine is unresponsive. I can still access the files through samba share, and via Plex's access to the shares.

I am running one cache SSD, and six hard drives. My media shares were set up to use all disks, but NZBGet was set up to use only disk 6 for it's temporary files until they were moved to the final resting location. I don't remember if the settings share was spread across disks.

Is there a way of fixing this short of a reinstall? If I reinstall is there a way to keep the share and docker settings? I'd hate to lose the docker settings specifically since they took a long time to configure correctly.

Thanks in advance for any help.

If you still have browser open maybe try 'Back' button to see if you can bring up a past version of Main page because that's where all the device assignments are visible.

Only thing you can do at this point is reboot and hope it didn't delete contents of /boot (your config).  If so you'll have to reinstall from a backup zip of your flash device.  If not backup, well more work is ahead...

Thanks @limetech. Rebooting it unfortunately did not resurrect the server. I reflashed the USB with unraid 6.6.6, and added the drives into the configuration they were before. All my media was still there, and it even remembered which shares existed. I had to redo the settings of all the shares, but once I redid them from memory all my external accesses started working again. I haven't seen any rektage yet, so hopefully all is good.

Thanks again.
