MCE Error

Featured Replies

Hello, My machine has been giving me MCE errors seemingly randomly. It also appears to be restarting on its own. Could anyone take a look at this and see what is going on?

Thanks!

With non ECC RAM memtest is always a good place to start, also make sure you're not running overclock RAM, it can easily result in parity errors/data corruption with Ryzen.

I'm thinking ill just replace my ram with ECC ram. Is it ok to get 2 sticks of 2666 ECC ram running in dual rank? Or should I find 2400? the 2666 is actually cheaper than the 2400 for some reason.

It's OK to use 2 sticks running @ 2666 in dual channel, if they are single rank, dual rank max speed is 2400, also make sure your board supports ECC, as it's not officially supported by Ryzen CPUs.

So I ran the memtest, 1 pass complete so far with 0 errors. I'm going to keep running it but if it isnt the ram any other ideas what it could be?
