June 18, 20197 yr I recently bought a new 1TB SSD for my cache drive to replace a smaller SSD. After installing it I had a lot of issues with the cache drive, mostly disconnecting almost daily. Ended up buying a new SATA cable. Now it will go several days before it fails. I'm not ruling out a bad SSD but wanted to have someone look at my logs first before I go that far. All the SMART checks so far have came back fine. Just today it failed during a parity check but in the past it would fail at random times. I've attached the diagnostics. tower-diagnostics-20190618-0130.zip
June 18, 20197 yr Community Expert You should try using the SSD on one of the Intel onboard ports, since Marvell controllers are known to drop devices.
June 18, 20197 yr Author I am using the onboard ports for this, the SSD is sdo. I have not tried a new port on the motherboard though.

June 18, 20197 yr Author I guess I assumed all the motherboard SATA ports would use the same drivers. I do have two Marvell cards installed. Is there way to tell which ports are Intel? Thanks for the help so far.

June 20, 20197 yr Author I feel really stupid for not even thinking about that. 🤦♂️ Read the manual and swapped the SSD over to Intel ports. Guess I need to work to get my last HD off the Marvel port. I also updated the BIOS for good measure. Thanks for the help.
