Unraid license - how it works with updates?

Featured Replies

Dear all,

As a potential unRAID customer, I would like to know how the purchased license work with updates? When buying the current version (6.7.2), will I need to buy it again if the new release comes out (ex.: version 7 or above?) and I would like to update to it? Or is this a lifetime license, which would mean that if I buy the current version I will be able to update it indefinitely?

I tried to get more information on the main page, however the only information I get is regarding the number of HDDs and which plan to choose from.

Many thanks in advance for your clarification.

Best regards,

J

(Unless LT changes their mind), it's lifetime. It has always been lifetime as far as I know.

Direct quote from this page. https://unraid.net/pricing

"All Basic/Plus/Pro registration keys are eligible to run new releases of Unraid OS at no additional cost."

So, a key purchased today will be valid going forward. If Limetech decides to change their policy in the future, only keys purchased after that point would be treated differently.
