Networking Issues

Featured Replies

I'm having some networking issues with my Unraid setup. The network speed of my server seems to be limited to about 40 Mbps to 100 Mbps even over LAN. If I take out the ethernet cable and stick it into my laptop, it shoots back up to about 375 as expected.  also did a iperf test from my laptop to a Windows VM and got right at 40 Mbps. I'm guessing it's either a configuration error or a failing NIC on my motherboard (I've tried all four available slots). I

Also worth noting, the install is about two weeks old and I've had this issue the whole time.

Here is an example of the problem in action with my Plex server:

When I try to play a 4K rip over the LAN, it refuses to go over about 100 Mbps.

Any ideas?

Edit: It may also be noteworthy that it drops that the bandwidth from Plex (may be completely normal) seems to follow predictable pattern of dropping to zero every few seconds and then back again. Other programs appear to do the same thing. This makes me fear a failing NIC more than anything.

Update: It seems like the download speed is fine (or at least passable, it should be nearing 1 gbps), but the upload speed somehow limited to 40 mbps even over LAN....

Any slow network device in between, i.e. powerline, wifi bridge etc.

175Mbps still far less then 1Gbps.
