September 8, 20196 yr Hey Guys, I am nearly new to UNRAID and still trying to figure out this. I have an issue which i am hoping someone could help me with here. I am currently using a mirrored cache that i have my downloads folder in. Once the downloads are completed i move them manually to their respective media folders using Krusader. From past few weeks i have had this issue where once i right click and move files to its destination. It does its job to move it within cache but doubles up the space on my cache. So for example i have 120gb free on cache before i download any content. I download 20gb worth of content. So i have 100gb space free on my cache. After i move the files to its destination, i should still have 100gb free on my cache, because i have moved files from one folder to another inside the cache disk. But instead i now have 80gb free on my cache. (without invoking the mover function, because that runs daily at a particular time) When i manually or automatically invoke the mover. It moves the file to its destination and frees up the space but not properly. So if the mover has run i should have 120gb free again on my cache drive. But instead i only have 100gb free on it. I have tried to manually look for files in my cache drive but couldn't find any thing. I can only get my entire 120gb back once i have done a clean restart of my server. It would be really helpful if someone can help me out to rectify this. Let me know if you want me to upload certain diagnostics and would be happy to Cheers,

As soon as i was looking for the relative paths to post the screenshot here, i realised my mistake. I was moving from Root > Unraid > Cache > Downloads which should have been Root > Unraid > user > Downlaods. Hence it was actually using the disk share to transfer, rather than using the user share which triggers the cache functionality of the server. My mistake. But thanks for making me look for the right thing Cheers,

Read this, and be aware that you can lose files by moving them that way. There are correct ways of doing what you want, but you need to understand how user shares and disk shares interact before you get yourself in trouble.
