August 11, 200718 yr On my unRAID server i have 4 HDD and since one day one HDD is on error (576 errors) so which is the procedure to be followed ? Must i replace my disk ? i already stopped the array, unassigned the error disk, started again the arrray but errors are always here. Thanks for help.
August 15, 200718 yr It would help if you could attach your system log after a case where the error counter has incremented. Then I can tell what kind of error is happening.

August 17, 200718 yr I recommend zipping it. Normal syslogs zip to around 15% of original size, and those with errors are typically much larger and contain lots of repetition, which compresses way down, usually to 7% to 9% of original size.
