Cache Drive - only 2GB?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

New install of 6.8.0-rc9, I've just setup my initial array with 3x 3TB disks, 1x 3TB parity, and 1x 120GB SSD cache.

Everything looks OK so far, and it's currently building the parity; but for the cache, it only shows 2GB of usable space?

I stopped the array, dropped into SSH and did a "dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdf bs=1M count=100" to wipe the partition table in case it was something from the old machine, started the array, formatted it when it complained, but still only 2GB.

Image and diags attached.

Try blkdiscard /dev/sdf

BTW, keep in mind that since Unraid runs from RAM and is basically reinstalled from scratch at each boot, the /dev/sd? designations are fluid. Don't use those to reference devices without verifying the current status.
