KeyBoardDabbler
I have been using unRAID for the last two years, having my server run all my services. I have decided to split my tasks up into different machines, minimizing downtown if something failed. For that reason i am looking to build a new unRAID box to only serve my array to my network, no VMs or docker apps will be installed. What spec should i be considering when deciding on cpu & ram. unRAID box; CPU - (power efficient, not overkill and can handle the bandwidth/ pci for the 20x lanes needed) E3-1220L V2 or..? RAM - (8gb ECC, what amount is needed recommended ) Flash drive - SanDisk Cruzer Fit CZ33 8GB Pararity Drive - 2x 10tb WD Red Pro Cache - 2x 500gb Samsung 860 Evo HBA - 2x LSI 10Gbe nic DAS; Case - to support 28x HDD, 15 x 10tb WD Red Pro initially Expander - 2x RES2SV240, 4x ports used to link to HBA Edited December 21, 2019 by KeyBoardDabbler Quote Link to comment
