Weird Disk Problem

I have a weird disk problem. My 2 of my disks say they don't have a partition. after I run this command:  

dd if=/dev/sdX of=/dev/sdY bs=32M status=progress

to another unused drive then format the drive then do the command in reverse they show up and work fine. After a root boot unraid no longer says they after a partition. Any help would be appreciated!

    Not sure exactly what you mean by that, it would be better posting diags showing the problem.
