December 20, 201015 yr Hey Guys, I'm using Zappiti to scrape my "Movies" share, which is used on my Dune mediaplayer. Now i have to give up a name for the absolute path (smb). I've tried several lines, like smb://TOWER/Movies , smb://root@TOWER/Movies and loads of other lines, but when i try to play the movie, my Dune keeps saying: "Failed to open URL". URL: smb://root@TOWER/Movies/Ronin.WMV My username "root" on my unRAID server doesn't have a password. Anyone know how to write the correct line?
December 20, 201015 yr Author Samba shares is enabled: "Disk shares (SMB):" is set to "Export read/write"
December 21, 201015 yr Author I tried using a username in the the path. First i had no password, but now i've set one, just to be sure that no password is not a problem. To bad its not working though.. What i did discovered, is that the line has to begin with: "smb://", and NOT: "smb//". When using the first example my Dune tells me: "Failed to open URL". When i use the second example, without the : , i get lots of faults. And now the strange part: First, i had the Zappiti setup include my TVseries. Everytime i use the "export to Dune"-button, it takes a long time to send all the data, so i thought, why not remove the TVseries-settings from the configuration screen. So now its removed, the TVseries are still in place in the Zappiti menu, and all there. When i now press the enter button, a TVshow starts playing like it should!! (but its not scraping my new series now i suppose?) Why not remove the Movies folder as well? Well, because this doesn't work: "no such file or directory", my Dune says in the second window. The first window at the back says: "Aanmaken Afspeellijst" (make playlist), and then some text i can't read because the second window is in front of it.. Ideas anyone?
December 21, 201015 yr It sounds like a Zappiti issue, rather than unRaid. I'm not an exort on absolute paths so try posting here http://www.mpcclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23073&page=246 For info, if everything is stored on your unRaid server, you don't need to use absolute paths. Zappiti needs to be in the root of the disc where the media is stored so If have a share called "AllDisks" which, as it's name implies is a root folder on every disc (level 0). This is where Zappiti resides. Within this I have folders called "dvd Movies" and "TV Series" (level 1 on each disc). So in Zapitti, my share path is "\\Tower\AllDisks". My movies folder is "\\Tower\Alldisks\dvd movies" and my TV Shows folder is "\\Tower\AllDisks\TV series. No absolute paths needed.
December 21, 201015 yr Author This sounds very logic actually.. I'll try this when i get home from work today. Thanx!
December 21, 201015 yr Author Ok guys, After days of struggeling i finnaly found what i did wrong. Its so easy and simple, i must be really stupid: My server is named Tower. The problem was that i could not get the right name for the share path and Movies & TV folders. My server puts 2 shares out, named Movies and TVseries. So used the shared path \\Tower , \\Tower\Movies for Movies and \\Tower\TVseries for TVseries. The reason that this does NOT work, is that \\Tower is the NAME of my server, and is actually not a folder name, but a network name. And Zappiti needs to make and use two folders in the share FOLDER. Offcourse this is not working, because Tower is no folder.. The solution was to delete the Movies and TVseries share, and create a new share named Media, which contains both folders Movies and TVseries. Everything works just fine now. Thanx everyone for trying to help me with this!! Keep up the good work!
January 1, 201115 yr Thanks for this. I was having a hard time trying to get this to work until I found this thread. Before I had three user shares: Movies, TV Shows & Music. I also had my Zappiti info going to disk 1 of my array. I then set up one user share called Media and moved my Movies and TV Shows folders underneath it and finally set up my Zappiti info under the Media drive. Everything works great now. I have two Dune D1's using Zappiti and it is a great interface. My samba absolute paths are smb://TOWER/Media/Movies and smb://TOWER/Media/TV Shows.
