[SOLVED] RAID1 Cache Pool using only 1 drive?

Featured Replies

As the title says, I don't think my cache is working correctly. It only ever writes to one drive, and it says "Data, single" instead of RAID1 in the Balance Status section.

When I put "-dconvert=raid1 -mconvert=raid1" into the balance options and hit balance, it refreshes the page and does nothing. Is my cache working, and if it isn't how do I get it to be a proper RAID1?

Please post the diagnostics: Tools -> Diagnostics

Cache2 failed to add to the pool, this sometimes happens for whatever reason, can't say why without the diags from when it was first added, but it's usually fixed by adding it again, stop array, unassign cache2, start array, stop array, re-assign cache2, start array, look for activity on cache2 or just post new diags.

Note: this is considered a safe procedure but still make sure cache backups are up to date before doing it.

Interesting. I'll have to go through that process when I get some free time.

I finally got around to trying this out today, and now my cache pool shows RAID1, but with 1TB of usable space. If its RAID1, there should only be 500GB of usable space. Any ideas?

Edit: Once the balance finished everything looks normal. Thanks for the help!
