January 1, 201115 yr Hi, Noob here with 1st build, stumbling along making almost every mistake possible along the way but getting to know my unRAID very well and having a good time to boot. (pun not intended) I’d like to thank everyone who has made the forum as useful as it is and those who have helped me at panic times. To give back some, esp. for nervous noob here is a detailed list of the BIOS settings I have made with a successful boot of the flash drive. This is for the TA785G3 board, Sempron 140. Any corrections or suggestions encouraged. January 13, 201115 yr SATA IDE combined mode should be disabled. With it enabled you are restricting your SATA ports 5 and 6 (typically) to run at IDE speeds. I also like to disable all boot devices except the HDD (which you set as the flash drive). However, it doesn't really matter as long as the mobo boots into unRAID properly. There's also no real need to disable the audio ports, but I suppose it doesn't hurt either. Maybe it will save you a watt or two, I don't know. Everything else looks great. Thanks for writing this guide, I'm sure it will help many.
January 19, 201115 yr This is from the Biostar A760G M2+ it may also work on the TA785G3. Check the northbridge configuration. Choose 'Internal Graphics Configuration' Set UMA Frame Buffer Size to 32M (or the smallest size) This will free up some RAM.
January 31, 201115 yr Author Hi Rajahal, Thanks for reviewing the BIOS settings. Will take your SATA IDE change suggestion to heart, probably saved me hours of headaches in the future. Marlin
