Cache only... but still backed up to the array?

Featured Replies

Have tried my best to investigate this so I am confident this is actually a feature request, but wanted to make sure I am not missing something.

Right now I have my plex data (and any other data that needs to be accessed rapidly without the need to spin up a drive in the array) set to cache only.. but it seems silly that there isn't a way to tell the mover to copy it to the array for protection daily. SSDs can still fail, right? Why not have an option where the mover copy the files to the array as a backup but leaves them on the cache for speed?

I figured I could write a script to do this, is there one already written? Seems silly that we can't have a cache setting for "yes, no, only, and only + parity" or something like that?
