September 8, 200718 yr This small bug was actually allready in 4.1 (first version i just recently started using). Bug is that GMT time selection is wrong. To get GMT+2 you have to select GMT-2 and vice version so plus and minus are reverted. Another small bug similar to that is when you set flash share to hidden it shows "Don't Export" even when it's sharing it as hidden. Is it possible in final version 4.2 to have security only for the box but not for samba shares? Or atleast have ability to allow guest account for shares you want and browsing. Meaning all shares would show if you go to \\tower. Because now if you set security on guest can't browse \\tower.

Or atleast have ability to allow guest account for shares you want and browsing. Meaning all shares would show if you go to \\tower." Seems that i don't really need it after all. If i just selected remember password then that login & password will be saved to network password for that windows user and will be remembered and it's enough.

Well this is by design If you bring up the Date and Time properties under Windows XP and select the Time Zone tab, you will see that time zones are shown as number of hours "behind" GMT you are, for example, mine says: (GMT-08:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada) For a time zone "ahead" of GMT, this is shown as a positive offset, e.g., (GMT+02:00) Jerusalem Now this is "opposite" the *nix convention where, if you were in the US Pacific timezone, you would normally select "GMT+8". Since we anticipate most unRAID users would be Windows-centric, we felt it better to follow the Windows convention in naming the time zones. Make sense? Another small bug similar to that is when you set flash share to hidden it shows "Don't Export" even when it's sharing it as hidden. Fixed in 4.2-beta4. Is it possible in final version 4.2 to have security only for the box but not for samba shares? Yes, this has been added to 4.2-beta4. If the 'root' user password is non-blank, then System Management Utility will prompt for password regardless of User share security mode enabled or not. Or atleast have ability to allow guest account for shares you want and browsing. Meaning all shares would show if you go to \\tower. Because now if you set security on guest can't browse \\tower. Yes, I'll add 'guest' access to the feature list - if more people ask for it, we'll add it.
September 10, 200718 yr Re: timezone setting ... I set mine to GMT+X and it shows up as GMT-X. No matter what value of X I choose (+ or -). Is that right? Bill
