Out of Memory Errors

Over the past 24 hours or so I've started getting out of memory errors.  From what I can tell, every 5 minutes, a sh process begins, uses 100% of the cpu resources, and then causes the out of memory error (not to mention running my cpu temp hot).  My Syslog is attached.  I run Sabnzbd and sickbeard on the system, but I have tried shutting both down, and the problem persists.  I can't find out what is calling the process that is causing the error.  Any suggestions?

Edit:  Forgot to mention, that if I manually kill the sh process that is using 100% of the CPU, it just starts up again at 5 minute intervals.

The only hardware change, was the addition of a new hard drive the day before the problem started.  The drive was precleared and had no problems.

If you can regain control of your server, stop the array and reboot.

Since you did not give any indication of which shell process you keep killing, can't help you tell if it an effect, or the cause.  Odds are it is not the cause.

Eventually, the out-of-memory process killer will kill emhttp and smbd.  You'll lose the ability to get to your shares and the management web-page.

How would I tell which process it is, as it is only called sh when I look at the list of running programs?

Bear with my as my knowledge of linux isn't the best!  ;D

What do you have installed as add-ons?

Stop them.  They are only complicating your life at this time.

To see more complete listings of programs running type:

ps -efx

the ps -ef command gave me the answer i needed.  It looks like the sh command was being called by the over temp notification addon for unmenu, which would check every 5 minutes and hang for some reason.  I disabled it and now everything is fine!!

Thanks for your help!
