GreggP
I have a home network with about 8 computers connected at any given time. 4 of these computers are running Windows 7 Ultimate (3 of these are 64-bit) 2 of the computers are running Vista and one is running XP. The final computer is my unRAID server running v4.5.6. Normally when I picked 'Network' from my Win7 start menu, all active computer were displayed. For some strange reason in the past week or so something has changed. It went from displaying all active computers to only 2 or 3. My network was operating fine for the past 5 years. Whenever I added a new PC, it was easily recognized by the network. So I'm confused why this happened all of a sudden. I went on the Technet Windows Networking forums to see if I could figure this out. Some people suggested changing the name of the workgroup on all systems to "WORKGROUP" (I had each computer connected to a workgroup named "KENDALL"). I tried this, and now all Windows PCs are listed again. If there are any Windows Networking experts here, could you please explain why this happened? I still don't see my unRAID server listed. I can access it by simply typing \\SERVER into the explorer address, but it isn't listed as one of my network computers. How do I get it to show up on my network list? Link to comment

It is on the settings page in the management interface. (although you could do it by editing the file and rebooting too, but that is the hard way) Link to comment
