SMB stopped working Zidoo Z9S

Featured Replies

Hi,

somehow I can't access my SMB shares from a Zidoo Z9S.

From a Windows PC they're still working.

I installed a new Unraid server on my Intel NUC and gave it the same IP and share/password etc.

Then I could access the share again from the Zidoo.

It was working fine a few days ago and stopped working only for the Zidoo yesterday.

But it's working with the same share/password to a server with the same IP, so I don't think it's the Zidoo, but my old Unraid config is maybe corrupted?

Maybe you know something.

Things are confusing to me...

Do you have two devices on the network with the same IP address?

If this is not the case, what error message is the Zidoo giving?

What is the security of the share on the Unraid server--- Public, Secure, Private?  And what type of access does the Zidoo require on the server?  (Read-only or Read-write?)

Found the problem...

But I stil don't know how to solve this or what's the problem.

I tried a direct connection and gave the Zidoo and my NAS a static IP -> working

Tried the same cable, but now again on the switch -> not working (but in OPNsense I can see the port 445 SMB request from the Zidoo to the NAS).

And this was working fine 2 days ago.

I can also not connect to the Unraid webinterface from my PC to the interface that the Zidoo is running (which was also working in the past if I enabled the FW rule).

For my PC I have a direct 10Gb NIC connection.

When I tried a direct connection from Windows to the NAS on the other interface this was working fine.

So somehow something changed on my OPNsense by itself.

I didn't touch my firewall for weeks and from one day to another it stopped working.

Even tried another port on my switch and OPNsense.

So I close this issue, as it's a weird network issue on my side.

Ok.. it's not a networking issue....

I plugged in the new USB drive from the Intel NUC to my NAS and started Unraid.

It has the same IP as the original NAS and I can reach the web interface.

So my config is corrupted and I have to start from scratch.. damn.

Issue solved.

I have three interfaces and gave two of them a gateway.

This was working fine for months but stopped today.

Reminder to myself. Never configure two gateways for one system.
