January 18, 201115 yr So I had a 2tb hd in(with a 2tb hd as the parity) and now I added a 1TB hd. So now it creates 2 disks, but I want it to just be 1 large disk. How would I go about doing that? Will it still safely keep my data on the 2tb disk, or will it try to split it up between both? Thanks
January 18, 201115 yr I am new to this so I am going to take a shot. If you create the same folder on both drives, it will "combine" them in that 1 share. Example: Disk 1 - Movies - TV Shows Disk 2 - Movies - TV Shows Shares: Disk 1 Disk 2 Movies TV Shows When you transfer files to the "Movies" share it will choose the drive with the most space and transfer the files to that drive. Not sure if thats what you were asking or not.
January 18, 201115 yr Author I have 3 shares, Movies, TV Shows and Music. I want both disks to act as 1, so it will be like a 3tb hd. I see in the shares tab it shows: Included disk(s): Excluded disk(s): Would I put disk1,disk2 and then it will use both drives? how does it allocate which drive it goes to? Also is a comma used to separate the amount of drives you want? So ya, that's what I want, how do I do that?
January 18, 201115 yr Leave those boxes blank and unRAID will automatically allocate all the disks to the share so it looks like just one hard drive. How it decides which disk to use is down to the allocation method you choose.

Another way of doing this is to go to the Shares page on the unRAID web interface and then type in the names of the shares you want. unRAID will create all the folders for you. With only two data disks, you can leave everything else blank or at default values. When you start adding more disks you may want to tweak some stuff.
