September 20, 20205 yr I'm new to computer stuff! Only been at this for just over 3 weeks so I'm very new not only to Unraid but computers and networking in general. I literally dont know what any of this really means, I'm just trying settings to see what will work and the settings I have listed below seem to be working but I'm not sure if it is actually creating a 2GB connection or not.....I have no way to test it (its hooked to my router and all other devices only have a 1GB connection.... so I'm hoping you guys can just tell by the settings if it should be working correctly. I've been trying to get link aggregation going but not sure that its correct and not sure that its working. My router (TP Link Archer C2300) has link aggregation. The router has minimal settings so not much to change. It shows a Mode of Static LAG then under Hash Algorithm I have it set to "DST MAC" eventhough the suggested is SRC MAC + DST MAC....for some reason it seemed to work better with just DST MAC......but I was just changing a lot of different things on the Unraid side to get it to work so maybe SRC MAC + DST MAC would work best with the correct settings. It only supports Layer 2 LACP. It also says the "the Link Aggregation mode in NAS should be Static mode".....not sure what would be a "static mode" in Unraid. On the server side I have this.... My Interface eth1 shows that its a member of Bond0 but the MAC address it shows under ETH1 is the same MAC address as the one shows under ETH0 (which is my main ethernet controller). Eventhough it isnt showing the true Eth1 MAC address in Unraid, all of my traffic goes to Eth1. Is that just because they are bonded together so it just looks like that or is it really only using 1 ethernet controller.....the one that doesnt show up in the Unraid settings? 99% of my traffic going in and out all go through ETH1 and ETH0 only shows some kilobites of traffic passing through it. My understanding from reading some old threads (which may be outdated) is that 802.3ad tends to push all the traffic through one ethernet not both. So maybe that is correct operation for that mode I'm not sure. On the router side I only see 1 connection....it shows that both router ports have a connection but in the devices listing there is only 1 listing for my server and it shows up with the IP thats assigned in the screenshot as well as the MAC address that is shown.....previously to me getting this connection to work, it was showing a IP and MAC for each ethernet. So it does look like the router sees them as a bonded unit....but I'm not sure how that's playing out. Any thoughts? Should I be trying to set it up different? I appreciate all advice! I really have no idea what I'm doing...I'm basically reading as much as I can and throwing darts to see what seems to be working. The way I have it configured right now, I'm actually getting to see it on the LAN, play Plex, ect so I'm hesitant to mess with it unless someone who knows what they are looking at can tell me if there are different settings that should work better.
