Alphahelix
Hi all, I have compiled a list of selected disks showing the actual cost a year at 24h usage. I know these numbers are not realistic, but it is worst case scenario. I also find it easier to compare disk price taking into account watt usage and expected life time. I was kind of surprised to find out that if you do not like to shuck disks out of cases, the 16tb Exos disk is the cheapest according to price (incl watt price) / tb / expected life span I have attached a picture for quick reference, and an excel file for everyone to enter their local prices for disks and kwh. I have found the power usage from Seagate site. I hope you can use my primitive excel file. /Alphahelix. harddrive.xlsx Quote Link to comment
