AMD CPU Boost

Featured Replies

Hi,

Im running a 3900x on my unraid server. When i do a cinebench test in my windows VM the speed doesn't go above 3.8Ghz.

I have enabled the performance boost on tips and tweaks plugin as well as having it set to performance.

I have an asus tuf x570 motherboard if that helps.

This is what ive captured during the cinebench

Every 2.0s: grep "cpu MHz" /proc/cpuinfo

cpu MHz         : 3820.166
cpu MHz         : 3820.260
cpu MHz         : 3820.150
cpu MHz         : 3820.260
cpu MHz         : 3820.356
cpu MHz         : 3820.142
cpu MHz         : 3820.214
cpu MHz         : 3820.200
cpu MHz         : 3820.192
cpu MHz         : 3813.841
cpu MHz         : 3813.939
cpu MHz         : 3813.647
cpu MHz         : 3820.061
cpu MHz         : 3820.148
cpu MHz         : 3820.041
cpu MHz         : 3820.157
cpu MHz         : 3820.251
cpu MHz         : 3820.038
cpu MHz         : 3820.106
cpu MHz         : 3820.097
cpu MHz         : 3820.090
cpu MHz         : 3813.871
cpu MHz         : 3813.966
cpu MHz         : 3813.680

is there something I'm missing?

Thank you.

Set it back to on demand. Performance on my 2700x would make it do some funny things. Also make sure that turbo boost is enabled in the tips and tweaks plugin. What version of unRAID are you on?

Hi

thank you for your reply.

ive tried that and no difference unfortunately. i am running unraid version 6.8.3

interestingly if i keep it on performance and not run cinebench it idles at this:

Every 2.0s: grep "cpu MHz" /proc/cpuinfo

cpu MHz         : 4214.256
cpu MHz         : 4214.424
cpu MHz         : 4217.173
cpu MHz         : 4216.185
cpu MHz         : 4215.796
cpu MHz         : 4217.349
cpu MHz         : 4214.000
cpu MHz         : 4213.513
cpu MHz         : 4215.434
cpu MHz         : 3932.976
cpu MHz         : 3763.580
cpu MHz         : 4225.162
cpu MHz         : 4199.891
cpu MHz         : 4212.147
cpu MHz         : 4204.570
cpu MHz         : 4204.361
cpu MHz         : 4200.750
cpu MHz         : 4211.194
cpu MHz         : 4214.976
cpu MHz         : 4214.267
cpu MHz         : 4214.689
cpu MHz         : 4137.370
cpu MHz         : 4164.424
cpu MHz         : 4213.530

I think its probably just being throttled, perhaps because of not sufficient cooling when running cinebench.

What are your temps like?

  • Author

currently having trouble viewing them. tried installing the dynamix sytem temp plug in through one of space invaders video. i can load the drivers through perl but still won't detect any sensors.

How do you view your temps? any other way i can view it?
