Nics not seen by either pfsense of opnsense

Hi all, so I have been pulling my hair out all day in regards to this.

 

I have a dual port intel nic that I was hoping to use for pfsense, however whenever I start the installation it will only see one of the ports as WAN so I don't have the option to setup LAN.

 

I have IOMMU setup correctly...i think and have passed the nic to the VM

 

I trawled the posts on here and tried some fixes, however I nothings seems to work.

 

I have another realtek dual nic so I put that in to see if that would show up. It showed up but had the same behavior, only one port was visible. 

I tried passing both the intel nic and the realtek nic to the VM and it behaved the same.

 

I then tried using the realtek nic as my unraid connection and passing my mobo nic to the vm, same behavior.

 

I thought it could be a bug with pfsense so tried opnsense and that won't even see either nic.
